Cedar Creek Library Fall Schedule......

Rick Hirsch, Texas County Extension Agent with the Athens Texas A&M Extension Agency will be available Friday Sept 10 or 17 ...9-12p to bring Master Gardener Level education offerings to Cedar Creek Lake. Rick and his group of speakers (master gardeners) will cover such topics as trees, soil difference between dallas & the lake, raised beds, vegetable gardening, community gardening etc...GREAT Classes....Hopefully, we can generate interest for monthly friday classes We need six more people to sign up for this class. This class is offered free of charge and open to all. $5 per person will be taken for classroom fee. All didactic portion classes will be held in Mabank...all hands-on "lets get dirty " will be held in Tool at a local nursery... If you can attend please email me with prefered date and preferred first topic so I can confirm... lesliecasey@swbell.net

She was standing in the kitchen preparing to boil eggs for breakfast, wearing only the T-shirt that she normally slept in. As I walked in almost awake she turned and said softly, "You've got to make love to me this very moment." My eyes lit up and I thought, "I am either still dreaming or this is going to be my lucky day." Not wanting to lose the moment I embraced her and then gave it my all right there on the kitchen table. Afterwards she said, "Thanks," and returned to the stove, her T-shirt still around her neck. A little puzzled, I asked, "What was that all about?" She explained, "The egg timer's broken." Women are very mean.

Know what really pisses me off (well ONE of the things)? People who leave their trash
on the beach instead of disposing of it properly. Last week some friends and I
were anchored at Bikini Cove (across from Cedar Isle) and the small beach
that is often used by people without boats was a mess. It was covered with trash
of all sorts from beer cans to dirty diapers. Come on people....don't be a damn
pig. Show a little pride and some common courtesy for everyone else that loves
to use our lake. How hard is it to bring a plastic trash bag with you? Every time
we go out, we have trash bags with us (in fact we used a couple of them to pick
up some of the trash on the beach ourselves that day). Don't be a jerk. Take
EVERYTHING you brought with you when you leave. Some of us love our
lake and if I SEE you throwing or leaving trash around, we're going to have a problem!
